Their contributions played a key role in the festival's success, creating a fun and memorable experience for the elementary students.

On Oct. 3, 2024, cadets from Wiesbaden High School’s Warrior Battalion partnered with Aukamm Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) to make the school’s annual Fall Festival a success. The event, which brought together students, parents, and teachers for an evening of fun, was enhanced by the cadets' hands-on involvement.

From start to finish, the cadets were instrumental in ensuring the festival ran smoothly. They arrived early to set up booths and prepare the various stations. Throughout the event, they assisted with popular hands-on activities, including face painting, bracelet making, and painting pencil pouches. Their support allowed Aukamm Elementary teachers to engage more directly with students and families while the cadets managed the flow of activities.

Cadet Command Sergeant Major Maciej Martinez-Chavez, one of the key leaders among the cadet volunteers, described the event as a unique opportunity for the battalion to give back to their community.

“Being able to help at the festival was not only fun but truly rewarding,” said Martinez-Chavez. “The work that we were able to do helped make this a memorable experience for the kids, and we got to see that direct impact in real time. It was amazing to see their faces light up.”

In addition to leading booths, the cadets also provided logistical support, assisting in setting up and breaking down equipment, as well as ensuring all supplies for the activities were readily available.

The collaboration between Wiesbaden High School’s Warrior Battalion and Aukamm Elementary School’s PTSO showcased the cadets’ commitment to service and community involvement. The event strengthened the connection between the two schools and highlighted the positive impact students can have when they engage in local initiatives.

With a successful event behind them, the Warrior Battalion cadets are already looking forward to future opportunities to support the community.
